United Arab Emirates (UAE) has the region’s first
dedicated center for electronic design and
innovation with the opening of the Microelectronics Innovation Center at
Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO).
With His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum at
the helm of Dubai Silicon Oasis, the initiative is building on
successful sectorspecific zones.
The region has been identified as one of the
four global technology hot-spots with an expected 15 per cent growth
rate in IT spending – and DSO is poised to lead development of the
semi-conductor industry in the region

|
DSO is committed to creating the world’s most integrated
microelectronics technology park to provide end-to-end shared turnkey
facilities for the semi-conductor industry.
This emerging community is provided with the
infrastructure and services to ensure fast-track start-up, minimizing
time to market to produce the most cost-effective business operating
environment possible.

Dubai Silicon Oasis
(DSO) is the world's premier purpose-built high-technology park for the
microelectronics and the semiconductor industry. DSO is an innovation-driven
technology community, housing microelectronics- and optoelectronics-related
enterprises, a state-of-the-art Microelectronics Innovation Center (MIC),
fabrication plants, research and development centers and specialized
academic institutions and residential areas.
Investments in the high-tech design and manufacturing industry at the 7.2
million square meter technology park are estimated to exceed US$10 billion
over a period of 20 years.
